a journey by bike

Our 8431km cycle tour through the Andes from Lima to Ushuaia, the southernmost tip of Argentina & the world. Our bikes took us accross mountain passes to over 4900m, over the Peruvian Puna & Bolivian Salt flats. We crossed 2500km of hot desert before crossing the Andes to the volcanic lake district. We then followed the Careterra Austral to Patagonia & into an autumnal Tierra del Fuego. Our blog is a photographic journal of a very beautiful journey through an incredible continent.

Into Calafate

An abandoned astronomical observsatory a few km's south of La Leona.

The Patagonian wind doing what it does best; making life unpleasant for cyclists.

A new tyre. This one had been with us since leaving Bolivia, over 5000km ago.
